So, over time, transaction entries have been added and updated in the main worksheet. This sheet is not just a static listing to simply be perused. It is time to show you how to make it work for you!

In order to undertake the working operations depicted here, you need to know how to copy worksheet, do sorting and totalling (inc. sub-totalling). These are not difficult but you need to be comfortable in performing these types of spreadsheet actions.

Warning

Never do the operations identified within the main (master) worksheet. This main sheet should always be used solely for transactions’ entry and update! Always make a copy of the main worksheet and undertake the operations on the ‘copy’ version. This way you can be sure of the integrity of the main worksheet at all times .
